Control Units
C39.XOUT
C39.XOUT is a compact programmable HE (Heavy Equipment) CANbus ECU for mobile machinery and on-vehicle equipment. With 13 inputs and 10 outputs, it consolidates sensor, valve and relay control in a single unit. Two CAN interfaces, dual-microcontroller architecture and EN ISO 13849-1 PL/d safety performance make it a reliable solution for mid-scale multiplex and field control applications.

Technical Details
C39.XOUT is a compact control unit in the HE (Heavy Equipment) class of the Avioni programmable ECU family. It is chosen for mid-scale applications where C24.XOUT’s 8+8 channel capacity is insufficient, but high-channel master ECUs such as C80 or C121 are not required. It is designed for sensor reading, output driving and safety logic in aerial platforms, small cranes, construction machinery, special-purpose vehicles and CAN-based multiplex systems.
Input and Output Capabilities
C39.XOUT can be configured with the input and output types supported by the Avioni ECU platform. In addition to digital I/O, sensor interfaces such as 0–5 V and 0–30 V analog voltage, 0–20 mA current, frequency/RPM, resistance, quadrature encoder and duty cycle measurement, and actuator drive options such as high/low-side PWM, ratiometric voltage and frequency output can be used according to project requirements. Field elements such as limit switches, pressure sensors, joystick signals or hydraulic proportional valves can be managed from a single unit.
Two-CAN Network Architecture
C39.XOUT provides two independent CANbus ports supporting CANopen and SAE J1939 protocols. It can operate as master or slave in multiplex systems and integrates on the same network with other Avioni ECUs, AVD HMI displays, sensor modules and third-party CAN devices. Two CAN buses allow HMI and field devices to be managed on separate segments.
Safety and Reliability
Like all Avioni master ECUs, C39.XOUT uses a dual-microcontroller architecture for cross-checking of input and output behavior. Over-current protection, over-voltage protection, reverse polarity protection and an internal watchdog safety relay are provided as standard. Diagnostics and current feedback on all inputs and outputs help detect conditions such as wire breaks, short circuits or faulty actuators at an early stage.
The unit is designed and tested to meet EN ISO 13849-1 at performance level PL/d. It carries CE marking and has been verified against the relevant standards under EMC Directive 2014/30/EU.
Javelin Suite Integration
C39.XOUT is configured and commissioned with Avioni Javelin Suite engineering software. The following operations can be performed via Javelin Suite:
• Application software upload and updates (firmware)
• I/O mapping and parameter configuration
• System calibration and functional testing
• Live CAN data monitoring and debugging
• Reading fault codes and diagnostic information
• Project file management and field configuration
With UCAN-USB or UCAN-BT adapters, Javelin Suite provides wired or wireless access in workshop and field environments.
Position in the ECU Family
C24.XOUT (8+8) is the most compact entry level. C39.XOUT (13+10, 2× CAN) is the HE-class entry point, offering two CAN interfaces and increased channel count. Applications requiring more I/O scale up to C80.XOUT (37+32) and C121.XOUT (60+40, 3× CAN). C39.XOUT suits projects seeking a balanced solution between channel count and unit size.
Typical Applications
• Small and mid-scale aerial work platforms
• Compact crane and construction machine control panels
• Hydraulic valve and relay drive applications
• Limit switch and sensor aggregation
• CAN-based multiplex machine architectures
• Prototype development and series production commissioning
